Spring Fund Raising News!

Starting April 1st our spring fundraising solicitation will be in the mail. Through continued generous support of donors in our area we are upgrading our fire and EMS response capability with a new fire engine (see details on this page). This is in addition to all the normal operating expenses to maintain our building, purchase supplies, and pay the utility bills to support our dedicated staff at Station 17.

If it seems that you are seeing more mail solicitations from us than in the past— you are absolutely right! We replaced our door to door fundraising solicitation in the fall, so instead of one mailer a year there are now two. By changing the format of our second solicitationwe save money on fundraising expenses that can instead go to providing improved public safety service in your area.

Please take a little time to review the packet when it arrives to learn more about the new engine and about volunteer opportunities with us. Your continued generous support makes it possible for us to continue our dedicated service to you!

New Pierce 2010 Arrow XT Engine

The preliminary drawing of our new Pierce engine can be viewed here.

This 2010 Arrow XT engine will have a 1500 gallon per minute pump and a 750 gallon water tank (both in excess of our current engine).  In addition to the latest safety features including front air bags and side roll protection, the engine features lower hose beds for both supply and attack lines.  A large EMS compartment is located in the crew cab to provide rapid access to our medical gear. Final approval of the drawings is expected soon.

Construction is planned to start in late July with a mid –August completion date.  We expect to have our new engine in service in late September.
